Christopher Amato was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. From the time he was a kid, he always wanted to work in law enforcement. After earning a degree with honors in Criminology from Florida State University, he joined the Department of Justice and later the Department of Defense. Although neither assignment was anything like he remembered from television—of course it wasn’t—he spent his entire career as a federal agent.
In 2014, Christopher and his wife, Joanna, sold everything and took off for Italy. Turns out the pull from both sides of the Atlantic was strong. Back and forth. And back and forth. In 2017 they moved to Lucca, Italy. But nothing is forever, right? After all, they’re parents to three sons and grandparents to two boys—all of whom live in the U.S.
Sure enough, in 2023 they returned to the U.S. and moved to North Carolina. During all their travels, Christopher has been busy writing manuscripts and short stories.
